960
Why 960?
Our name takes an 80-year life as a reference, not a universal average: life expectancy varies by country, age and sex. Counted in months, a life stops being an abstraction. Nine hundred and sixty is a number you can hold: spend it, protect it, or add to it. That is the whole idea behind 960 — show you how many months you likely have ahead, how many could be healthy ones, and which everyday choices move the count.
The number nobody shows you
Lifespan is how long you live. Healthspan describes how much of that life is spent in good health. 960 estimates both, side by side, so you can explore habits associated with healthier years without treating the result as a prediction.

FAQ
Healthspan describes the years you live in good health. It differs from lifespan, which counts all years lived. Health is not an on/off switch: a single estimate cannot capture independence, wellbeing or every aspect of living with a condition.
Understand healthspanLifespan is the total length of a life; healthspan focuses on its healthy years. Two people who live to the same age can have very different health experiences. 960 shows both estimates side by side so that total years are not the only focus.
Compare lifespan and healthspanAvoiding tobacco, staying physically active and eating a balanced diet are practical foundations. Sleep, social connection and appropriate preventive care also matter. No habit guarantees extra years. Seek qualified advice for symptoms, treatment or personal health risks.
Explore healthy habitsNo. 960 combines population reference data with questionnaire answers to produce educational estimates. Genetics, environment, access to care and chance also affect health. The results and countdown are not a diagnosis, a death prediction or a deadline.
Read the methodologyHealthspan is a broad concept. WHO healthy life expectancy, or HALE, is a population measure of expected years in full health, accounting for years lived with disease or disability. It does not identify an age when someone suddenly becomes unwell.
Learn about healthy life expectancyAn 80-year life contains 960 months: 80 multiplied by 12. It is our reference for thinking about a life in months, not a universal average or a promise. Life expectancy varies by country, age, sex and other circumstances.
